52 PARINDEY FELLOWSHIP
2023-2024
Aditya Singh | Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh
Farming & Food Systems

Aditya is a student of life who believes in representing the “language of earth”. He hails from the rebellious Chambal Valley of Madhya Pradesh. His first rebellion at the age of 15 was to learn about Hip-Hop, thereafter performing arts and rebellion became a part of his life.
In 2019, he participated in the SAVE AAREY movement which brought him to the realisation that speed of development is a by-product of human greed and the rising crisis of life in urban spaces. In 2020, he participated in the Kisan Andolan where he learned about the attack on food systems by global world order.

He believes that today we are at the crossroads of a world which is pushed to become more mechanical and economically colonised and therefore it is our responsibility to protect and preserve the intuitive knowledge of our ancestors and confront this culture of power.
During the 52 Parindey Fellowship journey, he explored his relationship with the land through the language of farming and from the perspective of a farmer. His curiosity was how growing food can be pursued as a livelihood and also working with communities in urban and rural spaces.
