52 PARINDEY FELLOWSHIP
2023-2024
Shreshtha Saluja | Jaipur, Rajasthan
Alternatives in Education, Art & Social-emotional Learning

Shreshtha is a social worker and an aspiring educator. She has engaged with issues of child rights and child protection, education, gender and sexuality, mental health and psychosocial wellbeing through various social impact projects and working with non-profit organisations. Her journey of social work education and working with people on ground has enriched her learning and shaped her worldviews and personal life. As a young professional and a curious child, she is now exploring her inclination towards rural and indigenous ways of life and its integration and interconnectedness with the rest of nature.

In the journey of 52 Parindey Fellowship, Shreshtha explored the domain of alternative education and social-emotional learning through art-based pedagogy. She got the opportunity to understand different models of learning, community-led initiatives for social change, and learned from various alivelihood practitioners under these themes. The fellowship also took her through an inner journey where she examined her relationship with power, social hierarchies, understood her fears and insecurities and learned about her communication patterns. She looks forward to reimagine expression and communication beyond written/spoken language, mainly through art practice.
